Holy Family Hospital was recognized by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in 2005 (Departments of General Medicine, General Surgery, Gynecology and Pediatrics); in 2007 (super-speciality in Cardiology) and in 2019 Critical Care Medicine, NBEMS (dip) – anesthesiology, Family Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology.

The hospital conducts regular teaching programmes, which includes Basic Sciences lectures, seminars, case discussions and presentations, journal clubs, as per the DNB curriculum. In addition, on the third Saturday of every month, there is a Grand Round (case presentation and discussions, in detail, by the DNB students); Morbidity and Mortality discussions, discipline-wise, once a month; and on the last Saturday of every month, a CME programme on a topic of current clinical interest, organized by the Holy Family Medical Research Society. The programme, in the form of workshops, symposia and seminars, are open to all the hospital’s consultants and medical practitioners and the DNB students.

NBE releases a state-wise list of seats available on their website.

DNB candidate pays Rs 1,47,500 to NBE directly as fees.

Selected candidates receive a stipend of Rs. 63,000, Rs. 64,000 and Rs. 65,000 during their first, second and third years, respectively, with free lodging. Candidates who are admitted to DNB Cardiology (Super Specialty & Critical Care Medicine) receive a stipend of Rs. 70,000, Rs 71,000 and Rs. 72,000 respectively.
